Just how Smart is your Phone?

We were invited to a presentation by CAT yesterday at Coombe Abbey. CAT isn’t a name that immediately springs to mind in the smartphone industry, surrounded by the more popular likes of Apple, Samsung and Huawei… But maybe it should be?

1 in 3 smartphone users will break their screen in the next 24 months. While screens are getting bigger and bigger, and ever more technical as bezels disappear, pixel counts increase they also seemingly become more and more brittle, despite great names like ‘Gorilla Glass’. The statistics for screen damage become much higher when you factor in trades people, and people who use their phones in the outdoors.

Many phones too are water damaged, despite more claims of IP68 ‘waterproofing’.

CAT phones are aimed at exactly these people. And there are other exciting factors that make these even more impressive and attractive. Laser guided measuring for example. And the one that really impressed us? A built in thermal imaging camera - that leaves us contemplating just exactly how many applications this may have - for industries like farming, emergency services, mechanics, IT technicians, electricians, plumbers, builders… Its endless.

Given the huge cost of thermal imaging cameras, and the fact its something else to carry about, what could be better than having something built into the handset that you use every single day? We can provide them as part of your tariff - talk to us about how it can work for you. We can even organise loan handsets so you can see for yourself. Have a watch of the video we’ve provided below.

The Cat S61 smartphone is built to be rugged and robust, to take on whatever elements, challenges or tasks you throw at it. It's the upgrade to your Cat S60; bigger, better, bolder than ever before. With an integrated thermal imaging camera, the resolution of thermal images is twice as good as those on the Cat S60.
